At first it's fun to watch treats spiral down, but it makes such a loud pounding noise when you push the button, it's hard to hear the bell. We find it more fun to feed treats out of our hands. The matching treats aren't available in stores near me and are too expensive online. We tried other treats, but if they aren't perfectly round, they get stuck. We also found that the spiral is so long that the bottom rests at the very bottom of the cage and gets covered by bedding. There is no way to make it shorter. Because it quickly became densely packed with bedding and useless, we took off the whole spiral and rested the top globe directly on a hole in the top of the cage. It doesn't fit as securely as a tube, but now the gerbils climb up and ring the bell as they try to get a treat. When we push the button to release a treat, the noise sends them running to hide. I've read a review of the cage that includes this accessory, and am glad we removed the spiral. Small pets try to climb up the spiral, and it is DANGEROUS.

It is awsome! It ships quick and carefully. You should buy this because it is quiet and safe. your hamster just has to get used to the bell. The hamster loves the treats. The treats are Kaytee Fiesta Treat Zone Crunch for Small Animals -- 8 oz
