It goes together just fine, but there are a couple things that could be improved:
the ring at the top has tiny holes all over it. This is so that the hamster can breathe, obviously, but it becomes a problem when the hamster pees up there.
The outhouse part is okay, except that the door is at an angle, which makes it tough to open.
The wheel is fine. It is especially nice if you have a smaller cage because it attaches to the outside. It can be a bit squeeky, but we just spray a bit of cooking oil into the center bar and it stops.
The entire thing (except the wheel) can be difficult to get into place tightly so that it does not wiggle.
Overall, the wheel is the most useful part of the kit.

The wheel is nice and quiet compared to so many others and sits outside the cage making more room inside the cage. The hamsters actually use the "Outhouse" as a bedroom, so the purchase of potty litter was not necessary. It's funny to find two or three of these dwarf hamsters crammed in that tiny space! Sometimes I'd find one of the hamsters sleeping in the top round-about piece, but haven't see much other use for that piece. I had initially purchased this item at Petsmart and took it back after I found it on Amazon at a cheaper price (and since I was purchasing some other items on Amazon). Would definitely recommend this!

this is a very good product. The wheel is very quiet. The hamsters love to sleep in the ring on the top instead of their cage. I almost wish I would have skipped back on the cage and spent more on the accessories since that is where they spend all of their time.

These are the ups about this:
My hamster, Dr.NutNut loves to go in these tubes, and your hamster probably will too.
They are big enough so your pet will not get stuck, and there are also little holes so your hamster can breath.
The wheel is pretty quiet, except there is a crack between the tube and the wheel and if your animal is anything like mine he/she will either go to the bathroom in the wheel or bring bedding into it to make a nest which will fall through onto the floor.
The litter box is pretty useful, until your mouse or hamster uses it as a bed.
The tubes will fit right in to any CritterTrail cage easily.
These are the downs:
The tubes are divided into 2 parts so you can take them apart to clean them. I know this sounds good, but when you are trying to put them back together they will come apart.
If you try to put the tubes together so they are all standing up straight they will fall over, most likely while your pet is in it. This happened to Dr.NutNut and he was terrified! I don't want this to happen to your animal, so don't stack the tubes.
The rubber grips that attach the tubes together keep them together, but then it is really hard to get them apart if you want to switch them around or clean them.
The "Loop da Loop", or purple tube is one of the ones that come come apart, and it does it the worst. If you finally manage to snap it together, it will just come right apart again!
Okay, so that is it. Whether you decide to buy this or not, it is a good product except for the downs, which I don't think is the reason not to buy this. I like it, and my hamster does too!

The exterior wheel is awesome, it will give your critter more space by getting the wheel outside of the cage. It also has a little "dropping catcher" underneath and is pretty quiet until your mouse or hamster decide to take a chew block inside of it.
My critters love the little hideaway and seem to prefer that as opposed to the dome inside their cage. I have removed the round-about (circle tube). My kids have mice and they will leave droppings anywhere (the mice, not the kids!) and the circle tube is very difficult to clean. I felt it was easiest just to get rid of this piece. But the other items were definitley worth the price I paid through Ozbo here on Amazon.
