My 3 rats rate it as "Eh... okay, but not great"Jan 25, 2009
By M. Reeves To me, the color and quality seems to be no worse than the other rainbow colored ferret/rat products (tunnels, cubes, etc.) out there. It's hard to rate its durability since my rats were disinterested in it enough that they didn't even try to chew its walls the way they do with the nests they love. In fact, compared to other areas of their cage, they weren't very interested in hanging out in it at all. But my biggest complaint is the zippers. They unzip way too easily. Every time a rat climbs up and over the top, they unzip. And this is from petite females who aren't even at their full adult weight yet! After only a few days, the unzipping issue made me deem the tent shape unsafe for my one rat who has head-tilt and I then tried stringing it up as a flat hammock instead for a few more days, but its odd shape when flat made an awkward hammock that they didn't like either, and I haven't put it back in their cage since.
Dimensions note: Since its fabric floor is not stiff, the weight of just one 195g rat was enough to make it sag down to a total height of 18" when occupied.
It's not a terrible product, but since there are so many better sleepers out there that won't unzip and won't take up as much vertical space, I wouldn't recommend it.

Would be better without the zippersMar 15, 2006

The first thing my ferrit did was unzip the zippers....had I known he would do that I would have bought him a hammock. They would do better to leave off the zippers.

Chinchilla didn't like itSep 08, 2010

"argh"
My chinchilla never uses it. He didn't like it when I had it up high and even when the floor of the tent is on the ground he won't sit in it. I use it as a place for his hay.

Loved it TOO much..Aug 15, 2010
By Nichole My two female rats, both still very young, tore this item apart in four days. They loved it; they constantly wrestled in it and one of them found it very useful for hiding food in. However, it did not hold up to one of my rat's constant burrowing habits. Within the first day my rat had dug the fleece up from the bottom and chewed holes in the corners. I discovered today, after having the tent for 4 days, one of them had chewed through the inner lining of the tent and was tunneling between the inside and outer layers of fabric.
In short, my rats loved this item TOO much. I was disappointed by the lack of durability, especially with the great reaction I got from my rats. I personally will not be purchasing another tent, but I believe this item is worth a try, unless you know your rats to be especially fond of burrowing.

Very low qualityJul 21, 2010
By M. Kalagias There really isn't much I can say other than how disappointed both I and my adorable little sugar gliders are. The item started to fret at the edges within just a couple days of being placed into use, for many small animals this is exceedingly dangerous as they may get stuck and hang themselves on the strands or in an effort to get unstuck they may eat some of the material and to add insult to injury you get no option over the color of the item... the one we got was ugly as sin.
Amazon was of course great in assisting as usual, however the replacement tore up just as fast as the original so we returned it as well and wrote this brand off as too low quality to purchase again.
