 Liked the bottle -- be careful not to lose a pieceDec 19, 2009

I liked this bottle. It mounts securely to the cage, no tipping or tilting. It's easy to remove the bottle for refilling. I can see the little floating duckie from a distance -- helps tell me if the bottle needs refilling.
The bottle doesn't leak. It has a spring loaded ball tip and is leak resistant. I think my hamsters had to work a little bit harder to get the water, but they figured out its quirk quickly and did not have problems.
There is a little clear seal to help prevent leaks. It's easy to lose when cleaning the bottle and I actually did end up losing it and then having to toss my bottle. I emailed the company for a replacement, but they did not respond. My other hamster bottles do not have this seal.
PROS:
+ secure mount on wire cage
+ quick and easy removal for refilling
+ doesn't leak
+ ducky indicates water level
CONS:
- will not mount to glass or plastic sided cages
- easy to lose seal
- a little more work for hamsters to get water

Just bought one of these... and I'm bringing it back immediately. It doesn't actually stay attached to the bracket at all.

I bought this bottle because the bottle that came with my crittertrail deluxe habitat flooded the entire cage within one day. The ball in this bottle is pushed into place by what I believe to be a spring, rather than using the "vacuum" method most bottles use. It did seem like my hamster may have problems with working the ball as she's a roborovski dwarf hamster, the smallest breed of hamster. Because of this, I did have to play with the ball by pushing it in to loosen the spring. She has absolutely no problems getting water out since I've done that, and seems very content with her new water source. It may leak a little bit, especially if the spring is loosened, but leaking is very minimal and not noticable. The ball will make noise when the animal drinks, but I actually like hearing it. It lets me know my hamster is getting the water she needs, and I never have to worry. The duck floats at the top. It lets me know from a distance when to refill. I also use it to monitor that my hamster is drinking alright, and getting the water she needs.

I've been trying to find a water bottle that doesn't leak for months now. This one features a spring loaded ball stopper, and therefore doesn't leak.
Unfortunately, the spring also prevents ANY water from being released. After licking the thing non-stop for several minutes, my ferret finally had her head face down in the drip pan underneath it. When I returned her leaking original water bottle to the cage she sucked at it for for almost five minutes, obviously thirsty, despite having access to this water bottle all day!
Do NOT get this water bottle for your pet. I would rather lose a couple of drops to a drip pan every few minutes than let my ferret go all day without water. I'm just glad that I gave it to her on a day when I could be home to monitor her water consumption.

Bought two of these for two hamsters. Works well, doesn't leak (if you have the top on tight), the o ring does occasionally come out of the top, so make sure thats in there tight. I always leave them to come to room temp after filing before putting in the cage - helps to stop leaks.
Only problem I came across is one of my hamsters likes to climb this and would use it to aid in his escapes - so I had to take it away and revert to a round bottle that he can't climb. For the other (less houdini style) it works really well and sits neatly on the cage.
