3Not as "Super" as It Ought to BeDec 28, 2009
By B. Brandt "Reader and Teacher"
I am a preschool teacher and have a guinea pig in our classroom. I didn't want him to stay overnight at school by himself, so he travels with me back and forth. Consequently, he has three habitats: One at school, one at home, and one for traveling. I bought the Super Pet Habitat Defined Guinea Pig Habitat for him to use at home, and I have been very disappointed.

The sides are very deep, and I thought they might help contain bedding, which Patches likes to kick up; they do not. The upstairs level was warped, and I have had to weigh it down with a large rock or two to keep it attached. The guinea pig has chewed (of course) the ramp clips so that the ramp is hanging on by one thread; I twice contacted Super Pet, which claims to offer replacement parts, to order a new ramp, but I never got a response.

The habitat is portable, which is useful, but it is also very expensive and, in my opinion, not worth the price.

4Great interactive home for SnowballJan 30, 2010
By cucuchi
Great cavy cage. Snug but also has great views. From the human point of view, the cage has great rounded corners, a little like a '58 Chevrolet, much more attractive than the boxy cages. The cage sits on a sturdy set of wheels that roll smoothly. The cage has a roomy door that opens on top, or an equally convenient side door. Humans can reach in easily, which encourages lots of interactive time. The cage is super easy to clean. The metal, round-edge cage lifts right off, leaving the 6" deep plastic pan to tip easily into an awaiting garbage can or bag. You can use the cage sides as a bottomless floor fence for the guinea pig to play in while you clean out the bedding. My only reservation is that the clips on the ramp wear down fast, as the last reviewer said, our G.P. does not chew them, but they are are getting weak from normal use. Super Pet can contact me for ramp clip redesign ideas.

2Decent cage, but FAR TOO SMALLFeb 09, 2010
By H Davies
I recently adopted two guinea pigs who came with this cage. After doing some research online, I realized that it was FAR TOO SMALL, as indeed are most commercial/pet store cages. Each guinea pig should have a minimum of 7 square feet of floor space - the interior dimensions of this cage allow them just over 2 square feet. While it IS a sturdy, easy-to-clean cage, and I'll be keeping mine as a quarantine cage in case one of mine gets sick, I'd recommend that anyone contemplating purchasing this cage do a little research and consider making what's known as a "C&C" (cubes and coroplast) cage. Just Google it. I made my C&C cage (and stand) in less than 4 hours for $44 in materials. It gives my guineas 10 square feet of floor space - and you a much better view of your pets.

We love our home! We have privacy under the platform and our food is kept up on the platform and not mixed in with our waste.

4Great Habitat!May 23, 2011
By Shelley
We bought this habitat in January for our new guinea pig and have been very happy with it overall. The only problem we've had was a broken ramp but it was relatively easy and cheap to order a replacement from the manufacturer's website. Easy to clean and easy to access the pet. Love that it's elevated on its stand, makes the area around the cage stay cleaner/easier to maintain the area. Highly recommend this product!
