Wheel reviewJan 05, 2005
By G. Secrist These wheels start out "whisper silent" just as claimed, but as time goes on, the plastic axle wears down, making the wheel loose. Loose wheels = LOTS OF NOISE! I have experimented with tons of wheels over the years, and nothing tops the Wodent Wheel.

Cheap.... and I don't mean just the priceFeb 06, 2005
By G. Secrist Comfort Wheels start out quiet and seem great, but after a month or two, the plastic axle wears down and becomes so loose that the wheel becomes too loud to tolerate. I was buying a new 5.5" Comfort Wheel every other month for my Roborovskiis until I finally took up the suggestion of others and bought a Wodent Wheel. Wodent Wheels are completely silent, and I swear by them.
If you have the funds to be spending $5 every 2 months for a new wheel, go for it. I perosnally would rather spend $10 on a wheel I never have to replace.

Not very good for sugar glidersAug 31, 2010
By L. M. Harris My gliders can only run about 2-3 rotations in this before being thrown out of it. It is extremely loud as well as unstable--we have to bolt it multiple times in the cage or else it moves about 1-2 inches with each rotation. This wheel is also difficult to clean if your pet poops a lot, which sugar gliders do. After forking over the arm and leg for the stealth wheel we saw the difference between the two. It's like night and day; you get what you pay for. This wheel is now on its side in the cage and is serving as a "kitchen" area where the food and water dishes reside.

Silent with modification, durableOct 16, 2009
By R. Markley I've had both a comfort wheel and a silent spinner for my hedgehog. The comfort wheel, with a scrunchie tied around the back, is quieter than the silent spinner. The silent spinner broke only a few months after we got it, but the comfort wheel has lasted almost two years before it got to the point of replacing. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.

In the end, don't recommendNov 12, 2011
By HealthyGirl I love giving my chin the exercise he needs. And he loves running on this wheel. It Is loud~ so I oil it regularly with natural, non-food oil.. but that's not the reason I wouldn't recommend this product. The design is such that the little flange that holds the wheel to the base (the pokey part) is so small, & it's plastic, that when it gets chewed on, it no longer holds the wheel to the base, and it falls off. This is my second wheel~ and it's lasted a grand total of 2 weeks. At $17 a pop at Petsmart, there's no way I'm buying another one. The people at Petsmart told me they have the same problem, so they took the wheels out of all their chinchilla cages. =( poor babies. No exercise b/c of poor design. I will look into other products.
