Great Product. Best hot spot medicine out thereNov 17, 2007
By Jody Steinwinter Great product for hot spots. My dog loves it so much that when I ask him if he needs "medicine" he will roll over so I can put it on. It keeps us out of the Vet's so it really saves me money and saves my dog anguish.

This is the first product I've tried that actually worked!Mar 29, 2009
By Sue in WI I have a shih tzu and he seems to have allergies. He constantly licked his paws.He has white paws and they looked dark brown from all the licking. I have tried many different sprays and Allercaine Anti-Itch & Hot Spot Spray is the only product that seems to make a difference. I use it in the morning after his walk and at night before bed. My vet also has him on benedryl, but the pills alone did not work as well as the Allercaine and the pills. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because he still does lick his paws occasionally, so it isn't a complete cure....it sure did help though!

Not much help as yet.Nov 26, 2011

"Looking for simplicity"
I read reviews on this product and ordered it on others good reviews. My dog is a Cairn Terrier and he has skin allergies, I have taken him to the vet to be treated and it cost me over $200 for treatment. He was put on an antibiotic, given injections, medicated shampoo and had to go back a few times. This seemed the perfect alternative for far less money. This poor dog gets crusty patches on his back, chest and belly. I know it is itchy and thought this product would be the answer to my prayers. It is not. The ingredients should help him but his coat is unusual and has an underneath coat of fluff like cotton and I do not think this penetrates to his skin. I have tried to spray right on spot but the coat underneath seems to keep his skin covered and the spray just runs off. I then sprayed and used a soft brush to try to get deeper and the areas are still itchy. Guess I was hopeful of an immediate relief but so far it has not done so. I cannot tell someone not to buy this because another dog may respond to it but this Cairn is a tough little guy. At least it was not $200.
