I have a Cava-Tzu (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel / Shih Tzu mix). She has had this toy since she was too tiny to even pick it up, and is now 15 lbs and 2 years old. This is the only toy that has lasted for her entire life, and she loves it. It's easy to throw, and all of the squeakers still work. The key, as with any dog toy, is to not let your dog chew on it with reckless abandon. This isn't a rawhide or a kong - its an interactive play toy. I will certainly buy more Tuffy's toys.

Tough toy for relentless chewersDec 11, 2011

I have a 15 lb jack russel mix- not very big or powerful, but he loves to chew. He likes to pick one spot on a soft toy and chew it relentlessly until the stuffing is exposed (which he then proceeds to eat). Because of all the layers of stitching, this toy lasts much longer than the conventional stuffed toys (and the Tuffy toys with a rating of 8 or lower). I feel secure leaving it in his crate with him during the day.
I do occasionally have to snip off strings and threads as the starfish's arms start to surrender to the constant chewing. It's not his favorite toy since it's not very soft and difficult for him to squeak, but he'll still play with it if there's no softer toy available.

As you can see by the picture i posted this toy only lasted 3 days. My dog is a cocker spaniel puppy, she's not known to rip up her toys but she seemed determined to rip the stuffing out of this. Surely not worth the money AT ALL. I would not recommend any of the tuffies products to my friends.

My 40lbs terrier had this ripped to shreds in 5 minutes. Not worth the money.
