Total waste of money it will actually make your water worse. This product should be refined to better quality. I would not recommend this product.

We've had freshwater aquariums for 35+ years, & never had a problem with cloudy water until a few months ago. The fish were fine, none were sick; there are no live plants in the aquarium, just the normal decorations. We started changing the water more often, & cleaning half the gravel more often, but nothing worked. The water remained cloudy. We finally decided to purchase Tetra Water Clarifier. I was concerned that it might harm the fish so the first time we only used 1/2 the recommended measurement & didn't change the water. The water cleared a little bit, not enough to satisfy me; the fish were fine. So we used the recommended amount for the next water change...after a few hours the water was clear again & the fish were/are fine too. Currently our tank has 2 spotted silver dollars, some cory catfish, 2 German blue rams & a few dwarf neon blue rainbows.
The fish are happily swimming around doing what they do...and we're happy that the water is finally clear again.
We purchased the 8.45oz size locally for a little over $6. It will treat 500 gallons.

We were having a problem with our tap water being cloudy..this cleared it up amazingly quick. And it keeps our water clearer for longer periods which means less cleaning.
