 Not strong enough for my dogs.May 25, 2011

I am not sure why we've had such issues with this tie out stake. It is advertised to be used for large dogs. Our 150lb. English Mastiff pulls this out of the ground without any kind of effort. Our 60lb. retriever can move it, but not actually pull it out. Unfortunately, the one Wal-mart sells (the spiral one) is the only one that actually works, so we'll be buying it again, and sticking this one in the shed for back-up.

This Giant Tie Out is a good product, and much, much less expensive here than what I paid for the identical product found in a large pet chain store.
I love the fact that the "eye" on the top is welded shut. I am actually using these to secure guy wires for a ham radio antenna mast.
My only complaint is that the stakes quickly developed a patina of rust -- mine are getting a little rusty after only one month in the ground. I suggest re-painting with a good anti-rust primer and applying a good finish coat before augering the stake into the ground.

We purchased this Titan Giant Tie Out before we adopted our 1 year old Siberian Husky. There is NO WAY that she will be able to pull this out of the ground. Right now she is only 40 pounds but when she is full grown she will not be able to pull this out.
The Tie Out is very strong & made very well.
