Hikari algae wafers satisfy my hungry plecoSep 22, 2010
By tech mom Great product, my pleco is big & healthy. Quick response time. Reasonably priced.
Best algae wafersJan 18, 2012
By The Penguin I have five fish tanks. I really like bottom feeders and have a tank of cory cats and a tank of loaches. There's a 10 year old pleco in with the loaches. I also have a tank with two green spotted puffers. To feed the puffers, I have a tank with snails. The snails have to eat and I feed them algae wafers. I also feed my cory cats some of these wafers in addition to flakes and sinking pellets. The pleco and loaches also get some of these wafers. Because I can get these wafers bulk, they are cheaper than any other algae wafers. I live in dry climate and the last bag lasted me two years. These are great algae wafers!
Better than the competitionJan 17, 2012
By Tim O'Brien I have 5 tanks, each with plecos, most with angelfish, and they all devour these wafers. I used to use another brand, but it would wind up unfinished on the bottom of the tanks, and the water would start clouding up as well. Once I switched to Hikari, never another problem! The angelfish, ever ravenous, will chip away at it throughout the day so I try to feed the plecos just before lights-out so they get full access to "their" food, but I also supplement the community feeding with a tablet or two just so the angels and rams can nibble during the day. I don't ever foresee switching from these Hikari wafers!
Great productJan 16, 2012
By ShadowsTeardrop This is a great product that will crumble after sitting in the water allowing it easier for the fish or shrimp to eat. This is a resealable bag but would recommend getting a container to keep it in just in case.
Worth BuyingNov 12, 2011
By V. Nagaraj I own a community tank with top, middle & bottom feeders. My pleco & the catfish love this wafer. I break into couple of pieces and place it in different spots, it dissolves slowly and attracts the fish. No wafer was left uneaten. Some of the other fish also eat this wafer. Its worth buying especially if you have bottom feeders like the cories or pleco. I would suggest it for other varieties of fish since it adds variety to their diet.
