Waste of moneyJun 10, 2010 Don't bother with this product. After 3 weeks little pieces of it started floating around in my tank and I'm pretty sure my turtle ate some of it.
Not Cheap But Made CheaplyApr 23, 2010 I've had one of these mid-size docks for my smaller turtle for a couple of years. The suction cups are totally useless, so I rigged up a way to secure it without them. After a couple of years the underside of the thing started crumbling.I've wondered if the foam stuff that breaks off is toxic to my turtle, so I keep it out of the tank, but everytime I clean it, more falls off. Call it the "disappearing turtle dock". Makes me re-think Zoo Med products altogether, because these are not cheap, but they are made cheaply.
Good for turtles less then 6"Feb 26, 2010 I have all three sizes of this dock and like them very much! They are hardy and sturdy enough for turtles under 6". They last about two years then start having algae growing on them and eventually the foam falls apart. I would recommend these to beginners.

Gets turtle out of the water... but then he ate it!Jun 28, 2009 I bought this about a year ago so my stinkpot turtle could get out to dry his shell. Like others have said, it is not that aesthetically pleasing, but it did the job. After a few months, the lower suction cups stopped sucking to the glass, and it grew algae very easily. Even after scrubbing, the algae came back soon. Then my turtle chomped it up- gross! I hope he doesn't get sick! This time I will pay more to get a higher quality product.
Great basking spot for my turtleMar 11, 2009 I bought this dock for my turtle. I originally had a difficult time attaching it to my tank as the bottom suction cups would not stick no matter what I tried doing. Eventually I figured out a trick attach the bottom suction cups first to the side of the tank then attach the upper ones. You will have NO problem if you set it up this way.
The dock has a shallow ramp that allows your turtle to climb up on it. The dock is made out of foam and rests on two bars. As the water in your tank evaporates, the dock slides down the bars, if you add more water to the tank, the dock floats upward. Because it does this, the dock always remains at water level.
I am surprised to read that a few people had problems with this dock. I have never had my turtle try to bite the dock. I also have never had a problem with algae growing on it. I remove the dock from the tank each week when I change the water. Usually when I do this I wash the dock off thoroughly with soap and water.
I have noticed my turtle occasionally will dive off the side of the dock to get into the water instead of using the ramp to walk in. She also on occasion attempts to climb on it from the side, eventually she figures it out and uses the ramp!
