turtle eye drop user.Apr 26, 2010
By turtle lover My turtle, Spike, had cloudy eyes & was unable to catch his food. I went on line & found Zoo Med Turtle Eye Drops. I started medicating his eyes as directed & within two days his eyes were clearing up. At the end of the week his eyes were 100% improved. I recommend Zoo Med Turtle Eye Drops or any other Zoo Med product. I hope you never need them, but if you do, try the Zoo!

By SammySamSam I was worried sick when my baby (quarter size) RES had cloudy closed eyes. I'm pretty sure this is becuase there was about a few days between when I got him and properly set up his environment. He wasn't getting the proper UVA/UVB basking he needed. I purchased this at a pet shop, but wanted to review it here because it works great! He was a little lethargic and I put two drops in each eye right after I purchased it. Then I put him under his Mercury Vapor lamp and he stretched his litle neck up and blinked open his eyes!!! I was so excited to see the instant relief that this provided him. It is also very important to try and keep the infected turtle out of the water to let the eyes heal. I kept him in a small dish overnight and then allowed him a tiny bit of water in the morning to drink, pee/poop, and eat. It's not bad to keep them out of water. He's slowly recovering, but I am less worried now. The instructions also recommend using the drops once a week as maintenance. The vitamin A in the drops can't hurt (I assume).
GREAT PRODUCT!!! Don't hesitate to get this even just to keep around JUST IN CASE!
Update: I've used this product for about 1 week now in combination with dry docking him a 1-2 hours a day. He is gaining his strength back and ATE FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY! I am so excited because this is a good sign that he may be getting better!
This product is a must for turtles with eye infectionsApr 09, 2012
By valarie After struggling with our turtle's eye infection, I finally found these drops which I used in conjunction with isolation and "sunning" as well as vitamin "A" drops. Our turtle survived the infection, with no signs of respiratory issues (which can be a side effect) and he appears to be healthy and happy now.
