1Not impressedNov 26, 2011

These pumps are loud!!! Some take a while to become noisy, some are noisy as soon as you plug it in. The noise is so loud I can hear it all the way at the other end of my house, when I'm in the same room I have to turn it off it is so annoying. Not recommended.

1works with biorb transformer but loudMar 22, 2011
By Katherine K. Walters
I've had a biorb for about 7 years and have gone through 4 pumps so far. Anytime our power goes out, water seeps into the pump and it stops working. The little reef pump works fine with the biorb tranformer--which allows the light and the pump to connect and be plugged in. But they are really LOUD. I cannot be in the room with it without some other noise--radio, TV, kids playing, etc., to drown out the sound. At night it keeps me up and it isn't in my bedroom. Needless to say, I'm currently looking for a replacement.

This is a 12v AC air pump, if you are looking for a DC air pump, this is not the product for you.
